Should Rockstar consider a San Andreas sequel?

>> Wednesday, February 10, 2010

Fans and game critics, alike can agree that one of the best video games released in 2004 was Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. The game featured the rise of Carl "CJ" Johnson from the streets of the fictional Los Santos, San Andreas, to the top of the world. Of all of the Grand Theft Auto games, it had the deepest storyline.

San Andreas was one of the best come up stories in video game history, but it left the people wanting more. The game was great, but there is a lot more that the fans wanted. For starters, most fans want the game to have more missions to it. It was great to see CJ take over the streets, but shooting up Los Santos is not the same without the Vagos and the Ballas terrorizing. Once the game is beaten, it becomes boring.

As boring as San Andreas may be, there are still three cities to choose from, plenty of country towns and lots of real estate. People are still willing to play the game, but as they play, they are wanting more. Why can't San Andreas border a real-life state? Why can't CJ free roam? Those questions are asked, but the people soon become aware of the realities that set in. Still, though, if it were possible to add other cities to the game, that would become a major plus.

Ever since the 2004 release of San Andreas, there has been major demand for a sequel. As action-packed as it was and still is, the people want more. Rockstar made tremendous profits off of their first Grand Theft Auto video game to feature a black protagonist. Obviously, that is where the money is, so they may end up going back to San Andreas with other, previously unmentioned, cities.
